Copings
Protect the top.
Stop water at the source.
Sysclad copings cap parapet walls and freestanding structures, throwing rainwater clear and preventing penetration into the construction below. They are normally manufactured from aluminium but can be manufactured from alternative metals.

Why it matters
Parapet tops are the most
exposed point on any wall.
Copings and cappings take the full force of wind-driven rain, temperature extremes, and freeze-thaw cycles. Without a properly designed coping, water tracks down into the wall below — causing damp, frost damage, and costly structural repairs.
A coping projects around 50mm each side and uses drip details to throw water clear. A capping sits flush and fixes through the top face — simpler, but only suitable where runoff staining isn't a concern. In both cases a damp-proof membrane beneath is strongly recommended.
Installation note: The coping must overlap the top of the wall system by at least 60mm to prevent wind-driven water from being forced back up behind the system.
Independently tested
Water tested to CWCT Section 10. Zero ingress recorded.
Our coping system was independently tested by BFRC (British Fenestration Rating Council) to CWCT Standard Test – Section 10, simulating sustained wind-driven rain at the joints and front face of the system. The result: no water ingress was recorded under any test condition.
Test result: Pass
Tested to CWCT Standard Test – Section 10 (2005), Technical Note 41 (2004), and BS EN 13051:2001 — independently conducted by BFRC, a UKAS-accredited test body.

PROJECT EXAMPLE
Secret-fix balcony coping with curved corners
On balcony areas where the inside face of the coping is visible, we design secret-fix brackets so no fixings are exposed. Curved walls get a matching curved coping — manufactured to the same radius, supplied in one piece at corners to eliminate joints and water risk. Structural calculations provided for all high-rise applications.
