What is CAD/CAM?

CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Design / Manufacture) is used to both design and manufacture products. It’s effectively a link between the drawing or model and the machining process needed to turn it into a real-life component.

The software generates the tool paths needed to produce the finished part based on the CAD design and passes these instructions to the machine which then carries out the process, be it punching, laser cutting or a combination of the two.

If you send us a DXF file we are able to automatically tool the profile and get your job manufactured quicker. Be careful if designing your flat blanks as when metals are pressed the material grows; so this has to be taken into account.
